Black squirrel sightings are very rare in Connecticut.

They are more common in Canada and in the Ohio Valley. The ratio of black squirrels to grey squirrels is 1 to 10,000.

Only seven towns have officially reported sightings. Those towns include Darien, Norwalk, Cheshire, Wallingford (Yalesville), West Hartford, New Hartford, and Ellington.

However, there are two towns that repeatedly see them almost daily. These towns are Wallingford and Cheshire. More specifically, the Yalesville part of Wallingford, right next to Cheshire.

Even though Cheshire is the more popular sighting area, two miles east I have had four personal sightings in my life all at different times, all spotted in Yalesville.

So, any people in this area, have you seen them?
