6:00pm UPDATE:
The storm in Litchfield County is not nearly as strong as it once was, but it's still producing heavy rain with thunder/lightning and is rolling through Goshen and Winsted and the northern end of Torrington right now.
There were reports of cloud to ground lightning strikes about 10 minutes ago.
5:45pm UPDATE:
The north ends of Litchfield and Torrington will be getting hit very shortly, rainfall rates will cause very low visibility and localized flooding. Goshen is right in that line. Winsted could also get in on the action closer to 6 p.m.
Some thunderstorm cells are firing, one just south of I-84 in the Hudson Valley and another across portions of Litchfield County.
The storms are slow-moving and will likely produce heavy rainfall, along with some lightning and thunder. A Flood Advisory has been issued for Rockland and Westchester Counties, but some localized flooding is also possible.

That cell is strengthening and there could be gusty winds and torrential downpours.
The area along Route 7, near the junction of Route 4 seems to be under the gun worst right now.
Kent has already been hit hard and the Calhoun Corners area is also in the vicinity of this storm.
A few more cells could pop up, but a steadier, larger area of rain is expected to roll in later this evening.
