After nasty humidity and some isolated, but heavy downpours on Wednesday evening, a cold front that came through CT on Thursday morning has brought some beautiful weather.

Northwesterly winds have knocked down the humidity and Friday should be another nice day, but parts of the weekend could be rough.

The image above shows the surface conditions at 12z (8am) on Saturday.

At this point, there is a warm front to our northeast and a cold front to our northwest, an almost identical set-up as the Fourth of July. That means we are in the "warm sector," and it will be very hot and humid with heat index values closing in on 100°.

The cold front will come through during the afternoon and that could spark off some strong storms in the afternoon and evening.

It looks like all of the rain would end Saturday night which means Sunday should be gorgeous with lower humidity.

So...how strong will the storms be? Check out the next slide for the forecast.
