It's now official that the first 6 months of this year were the warmest on record for the United States as detailed in NOAA’s National Climate Center report released on Monday.

The report shows that the average temperature from January to June for the U.S. was 57.4 degrees. In Connecticut the temperature during the same period was 5.2 degrees above normal! In the above graphic you can see that most states had record warmth, while others  were above normal. The only states that recorded near normal temps were Washington and Oregon.  Records have been kept since 1895.
