Breaking: SPC has increased the tornado threat to 2%.

2% does not sound like much, but it's a categorical percentage. Only a few times a year does the SPC place portions of the Northeast into this zone.

There were numerous reports of severe wind and wind damage across upstate New York and northern New England yesterday. Now, that cold front and associated zone of unstable air is settling south.

The storm potential may begin as early as noon.
I am currently working on another write-up to explain that, to be published shortly.

I will also be out storm chasing for the entire day, so stay tuned for a live feed of information from me. Those updates can be found on Twitter @danburyweather
