7:20 p.m.
Areas of light to moderate rain are working across Connecticut.
Some strong thunderstorms are being tracked in eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey.
Some of these storms may work into Fairfield County between now and 10 p.m. 

There have been widespread reports of street flooding across the state.
Periods of rain will continue into the night, keeping the risk for flooding up.

5:37 p.m.
The heaviest of the rain has now moved eastward out of Connecticut.
Additional storms are firing to our west across Pennsylvania, northern New Jersey and New York State.
These storms may move back into Connecticut later this evening.

5:08 p.m.
The heaviest rain is currently located across extreme eastern Connecticut.
Periods of moderate to occasionally heavy rain will continue through 6:30 p.m.
There are additional thunderstorms firing to our west and those may eventually work into the state later this evening.

4:05 p.m.
Heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms are moving through Connecticut.
Rainfall has been very heavy, leading to numerous reports of flash flooding and street flooding.

3:20 p.m.
A line of strong thunderstorms with torrential rain is moving through Connecticut.
Dangerous lightning and localized flooding have been reported from these storms as they move from west to east.

2:42 p.m.
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is moving through Connecticut.
Torrential rain, dangerous lightning and localized flooding have been reported from these storms as they move from west to east.

2:00 p.m.
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is moving through western CT.
The worst is affecting or will soon hit Kent, Warren, New Milford, Washington, Sherman and New Fairfield as dangerous lightning, torrential rain, hail up to 1 inch in diameter and gusty winds can be expected.

These storms have a history of producing nickel-sized hail and damaging winds across Orange County, NY. Numerous trees and power lines came down in that area. 

1:32 p.m.
A line of strong thunderstorms is moving into western Connecticut.
Torrential rain with localized flooding, small hail and dangerous lightning is expected with these storms.
Flooding is a big concern across Litchfield County as some locations have already reported heavy rain through much of the day.

1:08 p.m.
A line of strong thunderstorms is approaching the NY/CT border and these storms have a history of producing damaging winds, nickel-sized hail and localized flooding.

*A storm has also been impacting northern Litchfield County for the past hour, so localized flooding is likely occurring in some areas.

12:25 p.m.
A strong thunderstorm continues to impact the area around Salisbury, Canaan and North Canaan. Localized flooding is expected as the storm has slowed down.

11:48 a.m.
A strong thunderstorm is moving into Salisbury, Sharon and North Canaan. Dangerous lightning and torrential rain is expected with this storm. This may lead to localized flooding.

11:22 a.m.
Heavy thundershowers are popping up and getting ready to move into northern Litchfield County. Heavy rain and frequent lightning are possible with these storms.

10:52 a.m.
A strong thunderstorm in eastern New York is capable of producing hail up to 0.5 inches in diamater and is projected to just clip the extreme NW corner of Connecticut.
