After several weeks of no action in the Atlantic Ocean Basin, the tropics are once again becoming active.
As of 12 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, there was one main area we are watching for development, which will be called Ernesto. As of the 8 a.m. Advisory, Invest 99 was located roughly 1000 miles ESE of the Windward Islands, and slowly moving off to the west.

The above image displays the current percentage of tropical development, and gives the tropical wave a decent chance of developing into Ernesto over the coming days.
How about the intensity of soon-to-be Ernesto? Will it strengthen? Well,

Most models have it remaining at TS Status, at least in the next several days, but a few say it could be a Cat.1 hurricane in about 100hrs from now (about 4/5 days).
Where is it going? (see below)

Nearly all of the computer models displayed show what most likely be Ernesto, continuing on an WNW heading for the next several days, eventually between Cuba and Central America.
In conclusion, it looks like the NHC will officially name this system "Ernesto" by Friday this week, (granted it continues like it is) and will move off to the WNW, and slowly strengthen to a strong TS/weak hurricane if all holds up by the weekend and early next week.
Interests in the area should monitor the progress of the storm over the next few days/week as it could be in the SE Gulf sooner than you know it!
