High pressure tries to hold on today keeping the showers off to our west. The return flow around high pressure will bring more humidity our way through tomorrow.
The next frontal boundary and associated low pressure center will approach today from the west and move across Connecticut tonight and tomorrow. Two rounds of showers possible tomorrow with a shower in the morning and the potential exists for some pretty big thunderstorms during the afternoon. Lifted Index numbers are forecast around -5 to -7 and there is some upward motion. The key for convection will hinge on breaks or no breaks in the cloud deck. Any heating will really get things going.
Clearing should get going slowly Thursday early.
Next frontal band seems to be moving faster. (yes, I had a chance to look at 06Z). Some thunderstorms likely later Friday and Friday Night before clearing out early Saturday. I am not quite buying in to the ECMWF's slow departure Sunday with a wave offshore. The GFS has backed off of this idea as well.
