Whether I like it or not, I have somehow been fascinated with two things this summer.  Two things that can either be very interesting, or very boring.  The first of which is the tropics.  I've been very curious and interested in the formation of storms.  The second of which is the current drought conditions.  I have been battling the folks at the National Drought Mitigation Center because I don't see consistency with the levels they have, and the actual rainfall deficit in Connecticut, but nonetheless the image above represents the current drought conditions in our fine state.  Let's check out how much rainfall we actually need to get back to "normal".
