A Tropical Depression formed Tuesday evening and has officially become Tropical Storm Kirk, as of 11 p.m.
Tropical Storm Kirk has sustained winds of 45 mph. The storm is located between Bermuda and the western Africa coast.
The storm does not pose a threat to the United States. It will likely be sandwiched between two high pressure systems, causing it to turn towards the north. As we head into the weekend, a trough of low pressure is forecast to pull the system northeast and far away from the U.S.
If anything, Bermuda could see some fringe effects. The only potential minor impact in our area could be slightly higher than average seas, if the storm strengthens as it passes to our southeast.
