The image above is the GFS computer model depicting the 700mb heights and relative humidity. We use this model to look at where the moisture is and from where it is coming. Green represents moisture, not necessarily rain, although there is certainly rain in much of this area as well.

Notice the green blob directly over Connecticut...but also notice that it originates in the Gulf of Mexico and shoots all the way up into our area. And we also get a little bit of moisture from the Atlantic Ocean too. That is why is is really humid outside and why the scattered rain will continue tonight and Wednesday.
