As shorter days and cooler temperatures descend on Connecticut, people begin to turn their eyes to the trees.

Though it is still early in the fall foliage season there are still many trees beginning to show off their colors.

The map shows where the tree foliage is beginning to change. The yellow represents trees in their early stages of color change (11-30%). The green represents areas that have yet to really begin the change.

Here in Connecticut the trees begin to change from the northwest corner and the northeast corner and progress southward. Currently Litchfield County is reporting low color change along with Windham and part of Tolland County.

In the coming weeks expect these colors to rapidly progress southward. Feel free to comment below and report if your area is seeing color. This map will be updated two times per week.
