High pressure nearby is creating delightful weather today in Connecticut. High clouds from an approaching storm system are nearing the state, but brilliant sunshine is making it a great day to want to spend more time outside.

High temperatures will generally remain in the 60’s to near 70 until Sunday, and then temperatures will stay more around normal. The high temperatures next week can possibly be in the low to mid 60’s.

Low temperatures are mild until the passage of the cut-off low’s trailing cold front. Low temperatures for tonight and Friday night can remain in the low to middle 50’s. For early next week, temperatures fall to typically levels in the 40’s and upper 30’s.

While the cut-off low is approaching the state this evening, a low pressure area will develop along the front to enhance an area of rain over the state overnight into the day on Saturday. In some towns, over an inch of rain is possible from this event, especially in western Connecticut. There is a small chance for thunderstorms for Friday, too. With any thunderstorm that develops, there could be gusty winds and heavy rain. The cold front will move through on Saturday morning.

Climatologically for today, Bridgeport’s average high temperature is 63 and normal low is 46. The city of Hartford’s normal high for today is 62 and the normal low is 40.

A mix of sun and clouds will be featured this weekend into early next week with typical fall weather. The weather will be comfortable for outdoor activities this weekend. Enjoy the weather!
