Well, the latest 18z gfs forecast model came out and what does it show?

Well the operational run has shifted Sandy slightly to the west towards Connecticut. The ensemble members have almost all shifted towards Connecticut. As you can see on the map the white line is the operational gfs and the purple lines are the ensemble members. The 12z gfs ensemble members were split in half. Half of the ensembles were taking Sandy out to sea and other half hitting Connecticut.

Now I would not be surprised if the gfs tracked even farther to the west towards Connecticut. But, keep in mind none of this is set in stone and the probability of the storm going out to sea is higher than it hitting Connecticut.
