Overall Hamden fared quite well from storm Sandy, there were some power outages; reported about 25 percent. I was not one of the them however! As far as the tree damage it was scattered but not severe despite a peak wind gust of 71 mph at the high school. The largest patch of down trees was near the 

Whitney lakes. This is area where there are larger pine trees with shallow roots that fall easy in high winds!  (the above picture shows this)
