As of Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service (NWS) had issued Winter Weather Advisories for eastern Connecticut for snow tonight into early Sunday.
The NWS is predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow across the Advisory area. In addition, they feel that a combination of snow and strong winds will cause hazardous conditions outside.
"VISIBILITIES...THE STRONG WINDS COULD CREATE PERIODS OF NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS REDUCING VISIBILITIES TO ONE-QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES."
The Advisory is in effect through Sunday morning. Snow is expected to develop this evening and taper off during the morning hours.
Western Connecticut will see lighter amounts of snow, with the heaviest amounts closer to the Rhode Island border. I feel like most areas across Connecticut, especially east of I-91, will pick up 1 to 3 inches. If anyone did get more snow, that would most likely be confined to southeastern sections, which were under an Advisory.
