Severe Thunderstorm Watch, effective through 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for northern Conn. Wednesday afternoon.

Thunderstorms have begun to fire across eastern New York State along with a Tornado Warning in Delaware County. Since there is cooler air and clouds in place across Connecticut, the threat for thunderstorms will be mainly during mid to late afternoon, after 3 p.m. or so. A stray shower or thundershower is possible between now and then.

Some storms may produce hail, gusty winds and heavy rain, mainly across northwestern sections of Connecticut. The Watch is in effect through 10 p.m.

The severe threat today is LESS widespread than it was yesterday.

Stay tuned for more updates.
