7:00 p.m.
Severe weather is diminishing across the state and the potential for any tornadoes is very low at this time.

///

A Tornado Watch has been issued for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties until 9 p.m. Saturday. The Watch continues through 10 p.m. for Litchfield County.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the rest of the state, including Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties through 11 p.m.

Reports:
Tornado Warnings have already been issued just outside of NYC Saturday morning as reports have come in of a possible tornado. On radar, moderate rotation has been noted in some of these cells.

What to expect:
Strong to severe thunderstorms can develop across the Tornado Watch area anytime today. Isolated thunderstorm cells will develop ahead of a cold front, which is still located a few hundred miles off to the west.
These storms have the capability of producing damaging winds, large hail, torrential rain, dangerous lightning and in some cases, tornadoes.
A line of thunderstorms is then expected to travel across the state sometime between 6 p.m. and midnight. Those storms have the potential to also produce destructive winds and isolated tornadoes.

Keep an eye to the skies and be prepared to bring any outdoor activities indoors, should dangerous weather approach. Take Watches and Warnings seriously.
A WATCH means that severe weather is possible.
A WARNING means that severe weather is happening or is imminent.
