Massive waves and storm surge impact Long Island.

The "New England" Hurricane of 1938 ripped through the area on the afternoon of September 21st, 1938.

One of the worst natural disasters on record to hit New England, the hurricane caused massive damage from Long Island, all the way up into Vermont and New Hampshire.
